Consulting

If your organization needs help with making your digital presence accessible, I am available for freelance consulting. Areas where I can help include:

  • Auditing websites and mobile apps for WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 conformance or Section 508 compliance
  • Conducting accessibility design reviews for wireframes and prototypes
  • Developing a research plan for usability testing with assistive technology users
  • Creating governance processes focused on maintaining a high standard of accessibility
  • Crafting accessibility language to be included in RFPs and reviewing vendor proposals
  • Writing and editing accessibility strategy documents
  • Leading training workshops on topics like:
    • Digital accessibility requirements under Section 508, ADA Title II, ADA Title III, AODA, and the EAA
    • Understanding WCAG
    • Conducting user research with assistive technology users
    • Accessible design practices
    • Accessible coding practices
    • Automated and manual accessibility testing

I am open to working on big and small projects, and can be kept “on retainer” as an accessibility subject-matter expert for occasional accessibility support requests.

My availability varies, but if I’m not available I am more than happy to refer you to another accessibility specialist who I trust. Likewise, if I’m not a good fit for your project I will provide referrals to someone who may be a better match.

I am particularly enthusiastic to work with:

  • Public libraries
  • Municipal governments serving a population of 50,000 or less
  • LGBTQ+-owned small businesses
